Following its merger with Etisalat Sri Lanka a few years back, Hutch has settled into the value end of the market. Its 4G coverage is respectable in urban and suburban corridors and its prepaid tariffs compete aggressively with Airtel's — a useful option for secondary handsets and travellers.
The local arm of the Indian Airtel group holds a small but engaged share of the Sri Lankan market. Its value is most apparent in Colombo and major urban clusters, where 4G density is good and data bundles are priced keenly. Rural coverage is the operator's weakest point in our testing.
A niche but technically respected fixed-line operator with a strong enterprise and small-business lean. Lanka Bell Fibre delivers consistent speeds where available, and the company's customer support continues to receive notably high marks in our reader panel.
